The Richard Hunt Legacy Foundation and Creative West’s Public Art Archive™ are pleased to announce a new partnership developed to inventory, document, and provide free online access to a comprehensive catalog of Richard Hunt’s extensive public art commissions throughout the U.S. With 160 public commissions, Hunt is the most prolific public sculptor in the U.S.

Richard Hunt:
From Paper to Metal

Drawn from the the Amon Carter Museum’s holdings, Richard Hunt: From Paper to Metal highlights the artist’s prints produced at the Tamarind Lithography Workshop during a residency in 1965 and a newly-acquired sculpture, Natural Form, created in Hunt’s signature direct-welded metal technique.

The exhibition is open from October 12, 2024 through March 2, 2025.

Freedom in Form: Richard Hunt

Freedom in Form at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum tells the story of an artist affected by the civil rights struggle of his time and committed to artistic freedom of expression and the possibility of transformation. Visitors will experience Hunt’s work and personal biography as it intersected with milestones in the struggle for equal treatment under the law.

The exhibition is open from October 25, 2024 through April 20, 2025.
